Inter-Islamic Network on Space Sciences &
Technology (ISNET) was founded by nine OIC Member
countries viz. Bangladesh, Iraq, Indonesia, Morocco,
Niger, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Turkey
in 1987. Syria joined in 1997 while Iran and
Sudan were admitted in 2004, thus increasing
the membership of ISNET to 12 Islamic countries.
Any OIC member country can become the member of ISNET by filling out the membership form and fulfilling the financial criteria of mandatory contribution as annual membership fee. Member countries are also responsible to nominate an R&D organisation as the focal point contact for ISNET. In almost all cases the benefits derived from the membership greatly outweigh the membership contributions. Membership benefits include:
|
° |
Sponsorship of individuals from member countries to attend training courses at SUPARCO covering all expenses of boarding & lodging, course fee and airfare
|
|
° |
Preference given to members for Scholarships (eligibility criteria apply) |
